God wants everyone to trust Him and have a close, lasting relationship with Him. He promises He will always be
there for us. In the Psalms we read: "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken
those who seek you. (Psalms 9:10 - NIV) He created us with the ability to make choices. Although God is active in every
phase of our existence, we are not robots.
We have a choice to love, praise, honor, glorify and obey God or to
do our own thing. God wants us to love Him supremely and choose to follow His desires as found in The Bible. One of the ways
we can show God how much we love Him is to worship Him by being obedient, thanking Him for all He provides and singing His
praises.
Another desire that God has for us is to become more like Him every day. He sent His Son, Jesus
Christ, to provide us with the Free Gift Of Eternal Life and to show us how to live more abundantly. Jesus said: "I have
come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10b - NIV)
God also wants us to serve other
Christians and our community. He asks us to contribute our time and resources to the work of His Church, the “body
of Christ” here on earth. Since He owns everything and every moment we have is given to us by His grace, we should
strongly desire to give something back to Him. We cannot "out give" God. He pours out blessings on His
children.
However, man has a problem, there is a barrier that gets in the way of us having a close personal relationship with God. The Bible calls this barrier
"sin." Until our sin problem is resolved we are isolated from God and anything we try to do in an attempt to earn
our way into his favor is not sufficient. God's only solution is Jesus Christ.
When we accept the Free Gift of Heaven and Eternal Life we will naturally want to tell others about how they can enjoy a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
God has directed us to spread His Word throughout the world.
God can do anything He wants to do that is in keeping with His
character. He could send angels to tell others about Jesus or minister to the poor. But He has chosen to work
through us. What a great privilege it is to be a partner with God.
God desires that we be in the world but
not “of” the world. Christians are called to think and behave differently than those who do not call Jesus
Christ their Lord.
Christians should live holy lives, worship God, fellowship with other Christians as a member
of a local church, grow in their faith, serve the community, serve the church and spread the Good News about Jesus to the
world, starting with their friends, family and neighbors.
We encourage you to get a copy of the Bible such as the New Living Translation or the New International Version. Read your Bible daily and make a decision to obey what
God is telling you to do as He speaks to you through the pages of the Scripture.
It is very important for Christians to be in fellowship with other believers.
We encourage you to find a solid Bible teaching, Bible believing church.
